Eshiria Portman is the player's primary tactical advisor in Raiden V. She is constantly feeding mission data, as well as critiquing the player's performance during certain portions of missions. She and Max get along well overall, though they sometimes butt heads on some of the less mission critical topics.
Story[]
Ever since she was young Eshiria's family lived close to a military base. She admired the fighter planes, believing they were the ultimate symbol of freedom. One day, she was able to watch one particular pilot returning from a mission, and came to admire him.
Once the war with the Crystals began, most of the pilots in the base had to join the frontlines. When she was 15, Eshiria watched on TV a group of pilots returning from a mission, only for one of the pilots to engage in an argument with his commander over the death of his comrades. She recognized the pilot as the same one she admired, and from that day on she decided she would join the military herself and help that pilot in any way she could.
Eshiria graduated from the military school, specializing herself in communications. One day, she learned the VCD was looking for volunteers to join the crew of the Bellwether, and even though she initially had no interest in applying for it she quickly changed her mind upon discovering Richard Maxwell was assigned as the commander of the ship.
